Your Made for Me Bridal service will typically include the following production steps:

Initial meeting

1st appointment to discuss your design ideas, fabrics, dates, etc.
Appointment required – 40 to 45 minutes.

Design and estimate approval

A quote will be sent to you for your approval.
A 50% deposit will be required if you chose to proceed.

Design brief and fitting

Appointment to final design details and take body measurements.
Appointment required – 40 to 45 minutes.

Pattern making

Pattern making commences to toiling stage.
A toile is a prototype made in calico or a similar fabric. It is used to fit and perfect the finished design.

First Fitting and alterations

The Toile will be fitted on you. Design and or fitting alterations will be pinned and noted.
Appointment required – 45 minutes.

Garment cutting and sewing

Your garment will be cut out and sewn ready for final fitting.

Final fittings and fit alterations

Your garment will be fitted.  Any minor modifications made.
Appointment required – 45 minutes.
Your finished design will be professionally pressed and presented on a hanger in a garment bag.

Frequently asked questions about our Made For Me Bridal service.

Can I provide my own fabric?
You are most welcome to provide your own fabric and accessories. We can advise you on the yardages you will require and also provide you with options for fabric suppliers we recommend.

Can you work from a picture in a magazine?
We will assist you in developing your design and can work with any reference material you may have including sketches, magazines, photos and original garments.
It is preferable to have a front and back view of your design but it is not absolutely necessary. If you wish to copy a garment that you have loved or may have found on your travels we can reproduce the design without any deconstruction of the original garment.

How long will it take?
We suggest you allow 14 – 21 days for Day Wear and Cocktail, and 21 – 42 days for Wedding gowns, Formal dresses and Ball gowns.
Where there is more than one garment required we will confirm timeframes with you at the design brief appointment.

Do I need to be there for fittings?
We will require that you make fixed appointments for fittings. If for reasons of distance a person cannot be present for fittings we will provide a measurement form with instructions on how to take the required measurements and we will ask for photos of the person to be provided for reference.

What if I don’t like the result?
We will do everything in our power to create the dress your heart desires. Once the toile has been made and fitted we will ask you to confirm your approval of the design before we cut and make the final garment.
If you request design changes after the dress has been made additional charges may be incurred.

I cannot get time off work, do you work on the weekends?
We do not normally open on weekends however we will always try to accommodate your needs. We can schedule after hours appointments if required.

How much will it cost to make a dress?
Our Wedding dresses range from $2,500.
Because every dress created is unique we do not offer fixed pricing. All dresses are quoted and costs are based on the complexity of the design, accessories, fabrics and the making requirements.
